Alice Cooley

Alice L. Cooley LEHIGH TOWNSHIP, Pa. Alice L. Cooley, 78, died January 27, 2005. Her husband of 53 years, the late James G. Cooley, died September 9, 1999. Born in Troy, N.Y., the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth LaBoissiere Luke. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Rita's Roman Catholic Church, Gouldsboro, its Women's Guild and maintenance committee. Alice was a Eucharistic minister, member of the Red Hat Society and was active in the community and Pocono Springs Association. Employed by the former Kerr Steam Ship, Westfield, N.J. and for a time had worked in the Twin Towers. She was an elegant, energetic, generous, warm and caring person. Her pleasures were her family and friends who will remember her for how she touched their lives. Survivors, daughters, Maureen Behuniak, Clifton Park, N.Y., Ann Urick, Seattle, Wash., Peggy Blue, Altadena, Calif., Eileen Cooley, Durham, N.H., Sheila Dempski, Washington, N.J.; sons, James Cooley, Clifton Park, Michael L. Cooley, Long Valley, N.J.; sister, Ruth Knipe, Lake George, N.Y. and Fla.; 15 grandchildren, three nieces, four nephews. Predeceased by a brother, William Luke. Funeral Mass Monday 9:30 a.m. in St. Rita's Roman Catholic Church, Main St., Gouldsboro. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church Monday. Interment of ashes with her husband will take place at a later date in St. Agnes Cemetery, Cohoes, N.Y. Calling Sunday 3-6 p.m. in the Brian A. Strauch Funeral Home, Route 690 and 1st Street, Spring Brook Township.
